Storylines - Q150 digital stories
Storylines - Q150 digital stories celebrates Queensland’s distinctive identity by documenting our people, places and memories during the State’s sesquicentennial year. In partnership with the Q150 Office, over 70 new digital stories are being created as part of the Storylines project.
The Storylines collection also features digital stories made by community groups and individuals in receipt of Q150 funding.

Sunshine Coast stories
- Ron West tells the story of the Majestic Theatre at Pomona.
Central and Western Queensland stories
- Bruce Higham talks about the history of Eungella National Park, how the area came to be designated a national park, and what makes the area so special.
- Blackwater punk-rock band Arcade Kid talk about being musicians in their hometown.
- Find out what is involved in melon-skiing at the Chinchilla Melon Festival.
- Author Nick Earls travels aboard the Q150 Steam Train and talks about his experiences on the very first Writers’ Train 19 years ago.

Gold Coast workshop stories

- Lesley Walker tells the story about the students of the Southport School and their involvement in World War I.
- Experience the history of miltary jungle warfare training at the Kokoda Barracks in Canungra.
- Deb Symes and Jill Armstrong recount their experiences travelling in outback Queensland.
- Gold Coast local studies librarian Kyla Stephan introduces Southport's digger memorial and his various locations over the years.
Brisbane stories
- Learn about the history of surveying and mapping in Queensland with Bill Kitson, historian and former Curator of the Museum of Lands, Mapping and Surveying.
- Curator Sam Di Mauro talks about the genesis of the Q150 mosaic art project and the challenges involved in arranging the 150 tiles created by communities all across Queensland.
- Delene Cuddihy, a member of the Yungaba Action Group, talks about the history of Yungaba, an immigration depot that was built at Kangaroo Point.
North Queensland stories

Brisbane workshop stories
- Discover the history of Peel Island, a former lazaret and quarantine station in Moreton Bay.
- Listen to Dr. Mohamad Abdalla as he recounts the formation of the Griffith Islamic Research Unit (GIRU), Queensland's first centre for Islamic studies.
- Follow the experiences of these people that moved from war-torn Asia-Minor to Australia: Tony Miller, Leonidas Naoumis, Mark and Ourania Girdis.
The Journey from Yassou to G'Day

Digital stories from the Greek Orthodox Community of St George Brisbane. This collection of eight stories highlights the significant contributions that the Greek community has made to Queensland's agricultural, social, artistic and economic development. Included in the collection are stories on the Paniyiri Festival, Contessa Diamantina di Roma Lady Bowen, the Nicolaides family and family-run cafes in Brisbane and north Queensland.
Becoming Queensland

Digital story with Professor Anna Haebich. Allow Professor Haebich to take you through a journey of two families settling into early Queensland. The family photograph albums of the Nicholson and Lorenz families tell the story of early life in Queensland.
Park Ridge State High School digital stories

A collection of 11 digital stories made by Year 11 and 12 Modern History students at Park Ridge State High School. These stories explore the local history of the Park Ridge and Logan areas - from the Indigenous history of the area, to its volunteer organisations and small businesses.
